Dr Michele Pasin

Michele Pasin is a researcher in Humanities Computing at King's College, London. He holds a PhD in artificial intelligence from the Open University (UK) and a BA in philosophy and epistemology from the Universita' di Venezia (Italy). His main research interests concern database design, knowledge representation and semantic technologies, the social web, human-computer interaction and in general, the range of possibilities these and other computing technologies open up for the humanities scholar. In his previous work, he developed an extensive formal ontology for characterizing the world of philosophy, which has been used to research advanced navigation mechanisms for philosophy learners. In September 2008 he joined the Centre for Computing in the Humanities, where he is working in the team of John Bradley on various database-driven web applications.
